Durban 3/12/2005
Docked in Durban this morning around 09:40.
It has been a bit of an odd day, but we have got the much
needed fuel on board! Indeed it seems as if we were lucky
to get it at all, so we mustn’t grumble. There is a
lot going on anyway. Ben and Alan are fixing up the mega-corer,
which will end up being our work-horse equipment. Phil and
Alan are building the FRESP lander. David, Robin and Rachel
are working in the lab (with white coats on – they look
too clean at the moment!). John and David are testing SPRATS
(more on this later) and Nicola has given us a seminar on
Demersal Fish at the North Atlantic Ridge. We left Durban
at 16:30 and had curry for dinner. We are now REALLY on our
way to Crozet. Hopefully the sunset is a good sign!
Rachel and her whiter than white
lab coat!
