Calculates the
local gradient at each pixel of the image and creates a stack of two
images, the first displaying the magnitude of the gradient
(0°-90°) and the second the uphill direction (0°-360°)
relative to a chosen cardinal point. Moving the cursor over the first
image produces a display in the Info
window of both the gradient and
direction. The number of neighbouring pixels used to calculate the
gradient can be set (from 1 up to half of the smallest dimension of the
ROI). If a ROI is too close to the edge of the image to calculate a
slope over the number of pixels specified, then the ROI will be reduced
in size as necessary. Press the option key to bypass the dialog box.
