By Air
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is situated eight miles from the city. A taxi is the easiest option. The Airlink500 bus takes you to Liverpool Lime Street Station and the No. 86 bus goes to the city centre. The airport has frequent flights from EasyJet, Flybe, Ryanair and KLM from many European cities (Paris CDG, Berlin Schönefeld, Amsterdam, ...) and KLM flights from the USA.

Manchester International Airport has connections to about 200 destinations world-wide. There is a direct coach service linking Liverpool with Manchester Airport and a direct train service to Liverpool Lime Street. By car use the M56, then M6 northbound to Preston, then take the M62 at Junction 21a to Liverpool.

By Rail
There is a fast 2 hour service from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street. If you can't get a direct train, as a general strategy aim for Crewe or Manchester. You can use Network Rail or TheTrainline to plan your journey.

To walk from Liverpool Lime Street, takes about 15 minutes uphill:
   - Leave by the main entrance/exit
   - Turn left following the main road (Lime Street) until the traffic lights at Lewis's/The Adelphi Hotel
   - At the junction, take the Brownlow Hill road going up the hill
   - Follow this road up the hill, at the junction to Crown Street, IIB Biosciences Building is on your left.
OR
   - Take a taxi to Crown Street or Little Woolton Street.
   - The entrance to the Biosciences building is facing to the west.

By Road
From the M62: at the end of the motorway continue straight ahead onto Edge Lane (A5080 then A5047) and follow signs for Liverpool City Centre and the University. The visitor's car park is right by the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is easy to spot.

By Coach
The National Express coach station is in Norton Street, a 15-20 minute walk from Liverpool University. From the exit, turn right and cross London Road into Seymour Street and Russell Street. Then turn left into Brownlow Hill and head towards the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral.

By Ship
You can take a ferry from Dublin or Belfast to Birkenhead and then use the Ferry 'cross the Mersey to get to Liverpool Pier Head.
