Franzi currently studies rapid evolutionary responses in Daphnia magna to heat waves. In particular, she is trying to tease apart the importance of genetic diversity, plasticity and epigenetics for population subsistence in the face of a changing environment. Her general research interests are the links between ecological and evolutionary dynamics, particularly in the context of plasticity evolution and of host-parasite interactions.
