Performs
histogram equalization based on the density histogram of the current
selection. A new look-up table function is generated that more evenly
distributes the gray values of the image. The newly created function is
displayed in the Map window. Use Apply LUT
to make the contrast change permanent. Equalization does not work with
true color images.
