Meeting arrangements

Arrival in the UK

Liverpool airport is a small airport located just outside the city. Easyjet fly regularly between Liverpool and many European airports. Please take a taxi from Liverpool airport to the conference hotels. Manchester International airport is located approximately 25 miles from Liverpool. Please visit the Manchester airport web-site for details regarding travel to and from Manchester airport.

Conference Venue

All lectures and the poster sessions will be held in the Sherrington Buildings at The University of Liverpool. Transport to and from hotels will be arranged by the Local Organising Committee. The location of the Sherrington Buildings is No. 25 on the active map of the University campus, also available as a printable PDF map.

Accommodation

Delegates will be offered accommodation at the following local hotels:

  • Crowne Plaza (4*)
  • Holiday Inn Express (Budget)
  • Travel Inn Metro (Budget)
  • Thistle (4*)

Registration

Conference registration and fee payment processing is being provided by The Conference Office, The University of Liverpool (Greenbank Conference Park, Derby and Rathbone Hall, North Mossley Road, Liverpool, L18 8BH Tel: 0044.151 7946440). Please note that all completed registration forms, together with payment in full must be recieved by Friday 24th February 2006. Follow the link to registration for further details.

Refreshments and food

Morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea for all guests is included in the price of registration.

Social programme:

For registered conference delegates the following programme is included in the registration fee:

  • Welcome reception in the Sherrington building on the evening of Tuesday 18th
  • Meeting dinner at the Crowne Plaza on the evening of Thursday 20th

For accompanying persons, the Liverpool Tourist Bureau at the Mersey Partnership offers a wide range of social events including tours of Liverpool city centre, the Beatles museum, Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs, Chester City Tour and the Lake District.
