Front Window is a puppet show and we decided to create an
exhibit using an installation inside a puppet
booth - in the style of Punch & Judy. The show is about
voyeurism and the interpretation we, as the viewer, put onto briefly
glimpsed scenes. |
Our booth has a false back, and rooms are created behind a
variety of windows. There is a looped 5 minute 'trailer' of the show running
continuously on a portable DVD player built into the false back. |
The
main part of the exhibit is a model of the show's finale - 20-plus
windows each inside an individually designed and lit box. |
The scale of the model meant the boxes
containing the windows were between 1 and 2 cm high... ordinary
bulbs (e.g. from torches/flashlights) and LEDs were far too bright and over-exposed
the subjects: we used fibre optics to illuminate the windows. |
