Virus
A virus family Picornaviridae, genus Aphthovirus same familiy as the common cold virus (Rhinovirus) |

Symptoms
The animals affected develop vesicles (blisters) in the mouth and between the claws on the feet. These vesicles are full of the virus and as they burst the virus is spread. Virus also in salvia, milk and dung and at its height in the blood of an infected animal. Animals start to excete the virus beofre the symptoms appear. |

Cause
of death Death in young animals is caused by myocarditis (inflamation of the heart muscle) |
