          Introduction

The disease in endemic in parts of Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle East.

A very contagious disease.

Affects cloven-hoofed animals not normally fatal to adult animals but is debilitating and will effect yields. Can cause death in young animals.

In 2001 February to September in the UK there were 2,030 cases.
