The Computing Services Department, together with the Centre for Lifelong Learning are pleased to announce the imminent arrival of Blackboard Mobile Learn application for VITAL. The Blackboard Mobile Learn application extends the existing VITAL system, taking it to the next level by bringing the classroom experience and learning content to the mobile environment. With a user experience and multi-touch interface that leverages the power of today's mobile devices the app offers an immersive and engaging way for students to check grades and assignments, access course work, add discussion board comments, blog posts and more.

The Blackboard Mobile Learn application for VITAL extends and enriches the VITAL course experience within native apps built for a range of popular mobile devices. Using Blackboard Mobile Learn, you get:

Computing Services Department are in the final stages of making the application available for all users. As soon as this happens, an announcement will be sent out to all users detailing the launch date and providing full instructions for downoading and running the application on your mobile device. The relevant information will also be posted online on the staff and student home pages, together with precinct online.

You must have a rough idea on when the date will be?
We are hoping to have the full application available for everyone before Christmas 2010. You will see posters around campus, advertising the release of the app, when the launch date arrives and continued advertising into the New Year.

How do users get Blackboard Mobile Learn on their devices?
Once the release date has been announced, users should go to the application store for their device and search for Blackboard Mobile Learn. From there they can download the application for free and start accessing their courses on VITAL.
