2024Mar. 27 Dr. Paul Colbon won 2024 Potts Medal	Congratulations to Dr. Paul Colbon for being awarded the 2024 Potts Medal for founding and leading Liverpool ChiroChem (LCC). This year marks the 10th anniversary of LCC, which was founded by Jianjun Wu, Paul Colbon, Jiwu Ruan and Jianliang Xiao in 2014 at the Department of Chemistry, University of Liverpool.

2022Oct. 21 New paper published	Jianjun, Zhenyu et al. paper “Synthesis of chiral piperidines from pyridinium salts via rhodium-catalysed transfer hydrogenation“ has appeared in Nature Catalysis. (doi.org/10.1038/s41929-022-00857-5) This paper laid the foundation for Liverpool ChiroChem (LCC).
2022Oct. 21 New Visiting scholar joined the group	Dr. Hossein Salahshour Nia joined the group from Rahavaran Fonoon Petrochemical Company, Instructor of Industrial Catalysts.

2022Apr. 5 New paper published	Upcycling polymer waste to high-value chemicals Zhiliang’s paper “Chemical Recycling of Polystyrene to Valuable Chemicals via Selective Acid-Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidation under Visible Light” has appeared in JACS. The paper has been featured in JACS Spotlights, C&EN, and ChemistryViews.
2022Mar. 30 A new postdoctor joined the group	Dr Bahram Pourhasan of the Azad University of Dezful has joined the group as an academic visitor.
2022Mar. 16 New paper published	Renpeng’s paper “Decarboxylative oxygenation of carboxylic acids with O2 via a non-heme manganese catalyst” has appeared in Green Chemistry.
2022Mar. 8 Leo passed his Mphil viva	Liangliang Zhao (Leo) has passed his MPhil viva – congratulations to Leo!
2022Feb. 12 Ram's review was accepted	A joint review on stereoselective hydrogenation of N-heterocycles by Ram with LCC has been published.
2022Feb. 8 Zhiliang left the group	Dr. Zhiliang Huang has left the group to join Wuhan University. We wish him every success in his now post.
2022Feb. 6 Ram left the group	Dr. Ramachandran Gunasekar has left the group to take on a new role. We wish him every success in his now post.
2021Dec. 21 Zhenyu received RSC fund	Zhenyu, now Dr. Zhenyu Chen, has taken on a new role, being a Research Assistant funded by RSC.
2021Dec. 16 Zhenyu passed his PhD viva	Congratulations to Zhenyu for successfully passing his PhD viva.
2021Dec. 1 Prashant left the group	Dr. Prashant Kumar has left the group for Cardiff. The group wish him every success in his new post.
2021June. 23 New paper published on J. Am. Chem. Soc.	Zhiliang’s paper “Oxidative Cleavage of Alkenes by O2 with a Non-Heme Manganese Catalyst” has been published in J. Am. Chem. Soc. This is an open access article.
2021May. 28 Zhenyu recevied an award from GBCET	Congratulations to Zhenyu for receiving an award from the Great Britain-China Educational Trust.
2021May. 3 New paper published on *Chem.* Rec.	Zhenyu and Aysecik’s review “Recent Development in the Synthesis and Catalytic Application of Iridacycles” has appeared in The Chemical Record (free download).
2021Apr. 1 A new postdoctor joined the group	The group welcomed Dr IIkan Calisir for joining us. IIkan is working on a collaborative project concerning dielectric materials led by Prof. Y. Huang of Electrical Engineering and Electronics.
2021Mar. 12 A new PhD student joined the group	Leiming (MChem, XJTLU/UoL) joined the group. The group welcome Leiming Qi as new PhD student.
2020Dec. 16 Shiyu left the group	Shiyu obtained her MPhil degree. The group congratulated her for her success and wish her all the best in her future career.

2020Oct. 30 Elliot’s joint new paper in IEEE T. Antenn. Propag.	Elliot’s joint paper with Prof. Yi Huang’s group, Multi-Mode Hybrid Antennas Using Liquid Dielectric Resonator and Magneto-Electric Dipole, has appeared in IEEE T. Antenn. Propag.
2020Aug. 22 Aysecik left the group	Dr. Aysecik Kacmaz completed her postdoctoral study and has returned to her home university, Istanbul University. The group wished her all the best for her future career.
2020Aug. 12 A new joint paper in Agew. Chem. Int. Ed.	A Liverpool and SNNU joint paper, Anti-Markovnikov Hydroamination of Racemic Allylic Alcohols to Access Chiral γ-Amino Alcohols, has been published in Agew. Chem. Int. Ed. In the same journal, Asymmetric Guerbet Reaction to Access Chiral Alcohol was published earlier.
2020Jun. 24 Prof. Xiao won RSC Tilden Prize	Prof. Xiao has been awarded the RSC Tilden Prize.
2020Jun. 17 Hongyan left the group	Associate Prof. Hongyan Zhou returned to Lanzhou, China. The group wish her all the best for her future study.
2020Jun. 17 Zhenyu’s new paper in Asian J. Org. Chem.	Zhenyu’s paper “Methanol as Hydrogen Source: Transfer Hydrogenation of Aldehydes near Room Temperature” has been published in Asian J. Org. Chem. DOI: 10.1002/ajoc.202000241.
2020Nov. 13 Naomi passed her PhD viva	The group congratulated Naomi Ritchie for passing her PhD viva on 13 Nov. Well done, Naomi!
2019Sep. 01 New PhD students joined the group	Renpeng Guan (MSc, Hunan University) and Guanhong Chen (MChem, XJTLU/UoL) joined the group as new PhD students with support from CSC. Sydney Williams (MChem, UoL) joined the group as a new PhD student with support from EPSRC and AstraZeneca.

2019Aug. 14 Elliot's new papar in J. Mol. Liq.	Elliot’s paper “Measured Relative Complex Permittivities for Multiple Series of Ionic Liquids” on the permittivities (dielectric constants) of 64 ionic liquids measured as a function of frequency has been published in J. Mol. Liq. 2019, 294, 111571.
2019Aug. 10 Prof. Yang visited the group	Prof. Yong Yang of the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the group. Prof Yang is a Newton Advanced Fellow.
2019Aug. 06 New paper published in J. Am. Chem. Soc.	"Iron-Catalyzed Anti-Markovnikov Hydroamination and Hydroamidation of Allylic Alcohols" has been published in J. Am. Chem. Soc. The work was carried out by Prof. Chao Wang's team at the Shaanxi Normal University in collaboration with the Xiao's group at the University of Liverpool.
2019Jul. 26 Professors from XJTU visited the group	Profs. Bolun Yang, Xin Chen, Guidong Yang and Chunran Chang of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, XJTU, visited the group and department, and they attended the Liverpool-XJTU Workshop on "Catalysis, Energy and Materials", organised by the XJTU-Liverpool Joint Laboratory of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Liverpool.
2019Jul. Professors from BUCT visited the group	Profs. Hongfu Yuan, Xiaoyu Li and Longhai Guo of BUCT visited the group and introduced their research.
2019Jun. 04 New paper published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.	"Transition-Metal-Free Hydrogen Autotransfer: Diastereoselective N-Alkylation of Amines with Racemic Alcohols" has been published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. as a Hot Paper. The work was carried out by Prof Chao Wang's team at the Shaanxi Normal University and Prof Ming Lei's team at the Beijing University of Chemical Technology, in collaboration with the Xiao's group at the University of Liverpool.
2019Mar. Opening of LCC Taizhou new lab.	Congratulations to Paul, Jianjun, and Jiwu for opening the Liverpool ChiroChemTaizhou new lab.
2019Mar. New postdoctor joined the group	Dr. Ramachandran Gunasekar joined the group as a KTP Associate working with LCC, from Prof. Kitamura's group in Nagoya University.
2019Feb. 27 New paper published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.	"Manganese-Catalysed Oxidation of Silanes with H2O2" has been published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., as a VIP paper featured on the font cover. The work was carried out by Prof. Chaoqun Li at the Shaanxi Normal University in collaboration with the Xiao's group at the Unviersity of Liverpool.
2019Feb. 04 New paper published in Chem. Eur. J.	Angela's paper "Boosting Molecular Complexity with O2" has been published in Chem. Eur. J. as a Hot Paper.
