Elements of a life | |
Waverton Mill is where we live, on the Shropshire Union Canal. I am an avid reader, in English and French, especially enthusiastic about Emile Zola's Rougon-Macquart series. Gwen runs (and I help with) Waverton Good Read. This is an annual prize for a recent first novel, voted for by the people of Waverton. I read 20 to 30 new novels each year as part of this activity. I have a strong interest in classical music and opera, and I also believe that Haydn was arguably a greater genius than Mozart (OK, so he had much longer to do it!). A wood turning lathe now fills much of my garage and, if you are not careful, I will force a badly-turned bowl or cord pull on you. Gwen and I have just become grandparents for the fourth time. |
