traffic lights and the
law
We recently heard from a members who had received a
notice from their local police force asking them to
disclose the details of the driver of one of their
vehicles during a specific time. The notice appeared to
be in relation to an infringement of a traffic light
rule, but there was little more information. But our
member was warned that failure to comply with the notice
might mean that they would be subject to a hefty fine.
We asked our resident legal expert what these notices are
all about and what our members should do when they receive
them.
One of our long term members, Deidre Dandelion, has
conducted extensive research into this area. Deidre, whose
husband is an a District Judge with experience of cases like
these, operates a small scale vehicle rental operation from
the Wirral. She has written a user-friendly guide to the law
for other SRVD members. Find out what they said in our current edition of "On the
Road" magazine.
