December 14th-17th (oral and poster sessions 15th and 16th)

Fieldtrips:

  1. Sunday December 14th: Morphodynamics of the Dee Estuary (Rowena Moore, Andy Plater, Alex Souza, Stephen Flint, Richard Worden). This fieldtrip/ workshop integrates sedimentology, Quaternary stratigraphy, numerical modelling of estuarine processes, direct measurement of physical parameters in estuaries and biogenic modifications to the diagenesis of estuarine sandstones. It is being run jointly by the Earth and Ocean Sciences and Geography Departments at Liverpool and the Proudman Oceanography Laboratory and involves half of the day in the department and half the day at the Dee estuary.
  2. Sunday December 14th: Sedimentology and architecture of submarine slope channels: Pendle Grit Formation (Carboniferous) of the Craven Basin SOLD OUT (Ian Kane, University of Leeds and John Collinson, consultant). This fieldtrip will cover the sedimentology and larger scale architecture of the submarine slope channels of the Pendle Grit Formation (Pendleian, Carboniferous).

Workshop:
Wednesday December 17th: PESGB North Sea core workshop (Gary Hampson, Imperial College and John Collinson, consultant). For the first time an interactive workshop showcases many of the classic reservoir sections from the UKCS

Oral sessions:
The two parallel oral sessions will run in adjacent rooms to facilitate easy movement between sessions. There will be several special sessions aimed at widening BSRG participation. In particular, to attract delegates from the oceanographic and geomorphological communities.

Poster sessions:
The poster room is adjacent to the oral session rooms. In addition, there will be a dedicated poster session, with a bar, in advance of the conference meal, so please consider a poster presentation as you will have a guaranteed audience
