Display Dissection of Dogfish Cranial Nerves

You are required to 'display' all ten of the 'Cranial Nerves' in the specimen of the Lesser spotted dogfish provided. This is to be left in the laboratory for marking.

You should record sufficient notes and drawings to finish a 'good copy' in your own time which should be submitted for marking.

Detailed information on the cranial nerves of elasmobranchs can be accessed on screen
and/or downloaded as a Word file here

For a useful summary diagram of the layout of the cranial nerves of the dogfish, follow this link

You are recommended to be 'innovative' in how you tackle the problem. We will be giving due recognition to those students that use their initiative!

Some sketches of the general dissection of the dogfish (although not necessary to complete the prac)
are available here if you wish to consult them
