An introduction to important issues in marine pollution was given, particularly to those Heavy metals and
Persistent Organic Pollutants   that have caused specific problems in marine systems.

Case study

A necessarily brief introduction to the impacts that have been caused by the key persistent pollutants in the ecosystem of the Baltic Sea was also given
