Aquatic Ecology:

Welcome to the Index Page for the BIOL213 Course

THIS IS A NEW COURSE FOR 2008

The course starts in Week 7 Monday 10th November

A completely new website is being prepared which will be made available soon

Recommended Textbooks:

For the freshwater part of the course, you should buy the ‘Ecology of Freshwaters: man and medium, past to future’ by Brian Moss, Blackwell Science, Third edition 1998.  Price £28.00.  There are five copies in the Cohen library QH541.5.F7.M91.3 but we suggest that you will need a personal copy because readings will be assigned each week from this book.

For the marine part of the course you are recommended to use ‘An introduction to Marine Ecology’ by R.S.K. Barnes et.al., Blackwell Science, Third edition 1999. There are four copies in the Cohen library QH541.5.S3.B26.3

Times and Locations of Lectures

Week 7-12 on Mondays 16.00, Tuesdays 16.00 and Fridays 13.00.  All lectures will be in Lecture Theatre 2, Life Sciences Building.
