Synthetic microdata for small-areas comprise two elements: (i) Best-fit combinations of households from the 1991 Census household Sample of Anonymised Records (example) (ii) The 1991 Census household Sample of Anonymised Records Users requiring synthetic microdata are strongly advised to download SynPop91, a user-friendly synthetic microdata extraction utility that comes pre-bundled with both (i) and (ii) above. Alternatively, downloadable via this web-page are best-fit household combinations for every ED/OA in the UK, supplied in zipped district bundles. Note that the first number in each file records the number of SAR households listed in the file. The list of households that follows uses household identifiers that map directly on to the 1991 Census household SAR (CMU version 3).
