Professor of Orthoptics

Prof Rowe qualified as an Orthoptist in 1990 at Moorfield’s Eye Hospital, London. She worked in London at Moorfield’s Eye Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital until 1992, in Australia at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinder’s Medical Centre, and in Ireland at Waterford Regional Hospital until 1993 before taking up post as Senior Orthoptic Clinical Teacher at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. She has worked at the University of Liverpool since 1998 and is based in the Institute of Population Health.
Research My specific research interests include visual impairment following acquired brain injury and stroke, visual field assessment, neurological impairment of raised intracranial pressure, fusion and binocular alignment, botulinum toxin and neuro-ophthalmology.
Teaching Incomitant strabismus and ocular motility, neuro-anatomy, visual field assessment, ophthalmic equipment, cerebro-vascular disorders, head injury/trauma, lids, pupils, supranuclear and internuclear anomalies, nystagmus, neuro-imaging.
