Annual module rollover process 2011/12
For 2011/12 the process for copying module content into 2011/12 modules is different because of the summer upgrade to new hardware and updated software. The 'Course Copy' facility will not be available in 2011/12.
2011/12 modules should be rolled over in TULIP as per your usual departmental processes at the time(s) that this would normally be done. Because the course copy tool is not available this year then instead content can be copied from 2010/11 (and earlier) modules to 2011/12 modules either by:
- 1. Requesting CSD do this on your behalf via this simple online form (requires MWS login). This will copy all module content automatically between specified modules and VITAL systems; or,
- 2. Using the 'Export course' and 'Import Package' facilities to move selected content between modules and the two VITAL systems. This will allow you to specify exactly which content you require moving between modules and systems but is a more involved process. Step-by-step guides to these processes (and module rollover) are detailed in the 'How To' guide linked below.

Personal Test Modules.
The VITAL technical team have identified that for the most part, staff do not use the Personal Test Module facility in VITAL (a private module available by default with every staff VITAL account). These unutilised modules place a significant burden on the system so the decision has been taken not to automatically include a Personal Test Module as a part of each staff member's set of modules in the upgraded system. If you require a Personal Test Module for the 2011/12 academic year then you will need to request this via the dedicated section of the Course Copy form, accessed via the link highlighted in the screenshot above.
