MWS Application Testing
Notes to Testers:
All testing of applications should be carried out in the Chadwick teaching centre (CHAD, or CTC), room T10 on the ground floor.
- 25.08.2006: Gave Chemdraw 10 its new license number. (The old one expires on 30.08.2006.) This will become available as soon as the center finishes reimaging (around 3:00 this afternoon).
- 24.08.2006: Matlab 7.2 doesn't install successfully. We are investigating.
- 24.08.2006: A problem which prevented BusinessObjects from installing has been resolved, but to test it, you must run Start | Testing | BusinessObjects 5i sp8 (Test -- No N Drive).
- 24.08.2006: When running BusinessObjects InfoView in a browser, there are several ActiveX components required which the user doesn't have rights to install. To fix this, first run Start | Install | MIS | Business Objects ActiveX Plug-ins for InfoView.
- 17.08.2006: The decision has been made to go with Wildfire 3 as next year's version. Consequently, Wildfire 2 is no longer being installed on stations 14 and 15.
- 17.08.2006: Fixed a problem with AutoCAD which caused an error message at startup about a DLL.
- 17.08.2006: Fixed a problem with Wildfire's first run that caused it not to use the correct options file.
- 14.08.2006: Fixed a problem with the Iris client which caused its installation to launch unexpectedly when running other applications, and for that installation to complain about lack of rights.
- 10.08.2006: SigmaPlot 10 and EndNote X are now available for testing. They are not automatically installed; see the table below for instructions on how to install them. Also please note that EndNote X is only available for installation in the test center; you will not be able to install it at your regular computer.
- 09.08.2006: Rhinoceros is now properly installed on station 16.
- 09.08.2006: Problems with registry rights on the workstations have been resolved and all machines have been reinstalled with the fix. These problems could have potentially caused unexpected behavior, especially error messages, from any application. If you experienced strange behavior from your application, please go test it again now.
