USP30 is a DUB of interest in the context of Parkinsons Disease (PD). Here we show that its depletion elevates basal mitophagy in a manner that requires the PD associated kinase PINK1. We also show localisation to peroxisomes and a parallel regulation of pexophagy that is PINK1 independent. This work was covered in a Current Biology dispatatch article.
