This exercise builds on the usefulness of screen grabs in animation. Not everybody uses pie charts, or needs to demostrate how to interrogate databases.....but any illustration that can be used to make a point may be animated. Suppose that you wanted to introduce the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, you might start with "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and use image of pages from the first edition to provide context and background....
How to animate pages
First, create a slide with several pages taken from the book in question, in this case "The Hound of the Baskervilles". If you aren't sure how to do this then click here for detailed instructions.
Alternatively you could download this one that I made earlier.
OK, now we can animate... and this is the really easy bit
When you play your powerPoint, it should look something like the animation below.....
.....Click anywhere on the movie to advance.... or use the "play" button.
The powerPoint with the introduction to Holmes and his Hound is available for download here.
The key to this style of animation is to create the final slide first and then animate by deletion.
