Energy Research
Electrochemistry offers many opportunities for development of sustainable energy technologies, including energy storage and conversion (batteries, fuel cells, electrochemical capacitors).
In collaborative projects we have been investigating processes such as:
Bimetallic and metallic multilayer electrocatalysts (with Chris Lucas, Liverpool).
Oxygen reduction electrocatalysts (with the group of Kadio Tammeveski, Tartu Estonia) [1].
CO2 electrochemical reduction (with David Schiffrin, Liverpool) [2].
Fuel cells employing a platinum free cathode technology (with Acal Energy Technologies [3] and Andrew Cooper).
