Jianjun and Dinesh’s paper “Acceptorless Dehydrogenation of Nitrogen Heterocycles with a Versatile Iridium Catalyst” has appeared in Angew Chem. Int. Ed.:  

 

Xiaofeng’s book chapter “Hydrogenation and transfer hydrogenation in water” appeared in Metal-Catalyzed Reactions in Water, Wiley-VCH, 2013.

 

Shifang’s book chapter “Reaction with aryl or hetaryl halides or pseudohalides” appeared in Science of Synthesis -  Cross Coupling and Heck-Type Reactions, Vol 3, Thieme, 2013.

 

Two more book chapters from the group had appeared earlier in Science of Synthesis: “Reduction of carbonyl and imino groups” by Xiaofeng in Water in Organic Synthesis, and “Stereoselective reduction and imino groups” by Prof Lijin Xu and Xiaofeng in Stereoselective Synthesis Vol 2.  

 

Weijun and Steven’s paper “Cooperative Catalysis through Noncovalent Interactions” has been online published in Angew Chem. Int. Ed. This paper was featured on Synfacts recently.

Jonathan’s paper “Long-Range Metal-Ligand Bifunctional Catalysis: Cyclometallated Iridium Catalysts for the Mild and Rapid Dehydrogenation of Formic Acid” has appeared online in Chem. Sci.:

 
 
 
 
 
 
Many congratulations to Paul for passing his PhD viva.
 
Within the space of two weeks the group has said farewell to Barbara and Weijun. Barbara has taken up a new position in Leicester while Weijun continues his career in Hong Kong.
 
A warm welcome to Zhijun Wang who joins the group as a joint PhD candidate between DICP and University of Liverpool.
 
The group bid farewell to Prof Yanyun Li who returned to Xiamen University after a sucessful year visit to Liverpool.
 
The group welcomes Prof Longzhen Zheng, who joins the group from East China Jiao Tong University as a visiting scholar. 
 
Our Iridicycle-X series of catalysts have been commercialised by Yorkshire Process Technology Ltd and Strem.
