Nelson Martins is a graduate of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (Faculty of Science and Technology), from the University of the Algarve, Portugal, where he obtained a B. Sc.(4 years) in Physics and Chemistry (2002), and started his Ph. D. project. In 2004 he joined Professor Jianliang Xiao's group at the University of Liverpool in order to proceed with his PhD project. His interests in chemistry are in catalysis (coupling reactions, asymmetric catalysis…) ligand synthesis and organometallic chemistry. In the future he would like to work more directly in the health research. His personal interests and hobbies are sports, nature, travelling, languages and healthy lifestyle. He is a Seventh Day Adventist Christian and tries to serve in the community.
