Thornton Wood SSSI Thornton Wood is a narrow tongue of ancient woodland either side of Clatterbrook running from Clatterbridge down to Raby Mere. The wood is part of Dibbinsdale Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is a Cheshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve. The woodland is largely ash and oak with hazel and hawthorn in the understory. There are also two ponds and Clatterbrook running along its length. Location |
