The
shrouding factor is caused by the close proximity of the valve
head to the combustion chamber in the cylinder head or the
bore wall. This close proximity causes a disturbance to the
mixture flow and results in a greater pressure loss throughout
the head. The port sizes are adjusted to suit these additional
losses. |
