RESEARCH INTERESTS

My interests include host-parasite interactions particularly in invertebrates. Currently I am investigating the relationship between Spiroplasma bacteria and their Drosophila hosts. I will be using microarrays to examine host immune response, and intend to study what allows spiroplasmas without a male-killing phenotype to be maintained in a population, and if such parasites can be beneficial to their host.
