One of the big recent progresses in classification of projective
complex manifolds is Siu's proof of the invariance of plurigenera of an
arbitrary projective complex manifold. The proof consistently uses all
the techniques developed in the last years around possibly singular
hermitian metrics and their multipliers and adds some new and still
unexploited ideas to them. Moreover it seems to be a purely analytic
proof; at least there are no known algebraic substitutes for the
analytic ideas.
The primary goal of the mini-workshop is to get a better
understanding of the proof by discussions among the participants and
Y.T.Siu himself. Furthermore the possibility of an algebraic-geometric
proof and consequences and applications of the used techniques will be
discussed.
