Lecture Title: Ins and Outs of Respiratory Physiology


Lecture Synopsis Sheet: Summary / Abstract

In support of increasing your understanding of respiration, in particular Alice Springer’s shortness of breath, we will discuss:

  • The importance of matching ventilation and perfusion
  • The (local) ways in which perfusion is controlled
  • The inputs to the pathways which control breathing
  • The physiological control of breathing
