The Centre for Cell Imaging (CCI) is a world class resource for imaging projects. Since 2002, it has been housed in a state-of-the-art suite of custom-designed temperature controlled rooms in the Biosciences Building (Institute of Integrative Biology).
The CCI is equipped with 4 confocal microscopes, 1 system dedicated for luminescence imaging and 2 photothermal microscopes. In addition there are a series of image analysis workstations, with high speed data handling and storage capability. All microscopes are equipped with incubators for live cell imaging that allow cells, tissues and organisms to be maintained over days.
The CCI is a research facility with an academic lead provided by Violaine Sée and Daimark Bennett ; Marco Marcello is the Facility Manager. The CCI is open for collaboration or as a service.
The techniques available include :
Confocal microscopy · Spectral analysis and unmixing · Multilabelled samples · Live-cell time lapse · Deep tissue imaging (2 photon laser) · FRET · FRAP · RICS
