Welcome to the University of Liverpool SIAM Student Chapter
The
Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics has formed the SIAM UKIE Section
in 1996 with the scope of promoting and supporting applied and industrial
mathematics in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
The
University of Liverpool has received funding from SIAM to encourage students,
especially postgraduate students, to get involved in research activities in the
department. As a UoL student, you are entitled to a
free SIAM membership, so if you have not already registered, you can do so here.
Consequently, we are in the process of relaunching the chapter within our
applied maths department, and so, we need students to get involved and work as
a team!
We
are looking for ideas on what postgraduate students would find beneficial and
how they would like to organise the chapter to make sure it suits everyone!
Last,
but not least, our team is growing, so in addition to faculty advisor and
president, we are also looking for a vice-president, secretary and treasurer.
Please get in touch if you are interested!
