TESTAPET is a veterinary diagnostic service, within the veterinary parasitology department at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.  We are an integral part of the Faculty of Veterinary Science and have access to specialist expertise on parasitological diseases. Our team of scientific staff and veterinary surgeons can offer clinical advice, interpretation of results and suggestions for treatment to complement the specialist tests that are available.  Regular testing ensures rapid results, which can be reported by your preferred method.

With the growing popularity of the Pet Travel Scheme, and its continuing expansion to other parts of the world, we have introduced tests for several 'exotic' diseases. Pet owners can find information about these infections on this site.  More technical information for veterinary surgeons is detailed on the individual test pages (please refer to 'list of tests').  

We are involved in ongoing research into many areas of parasitological diseases of veterinary importance. A recent study on the distribution of exotic diseases related to the Pet Travel Scheme is available on-line (warning: this is a big file. Please be patient).
