Following the success and attention that was achieved two years ago with our Comic Relief Transvestite Antics, we decided that today 16th March 2007, we are going one step further and make even more money for charity by Duck Taping ourselves to the front of the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences building for the most of the working day.

Two years ago, the guys of the Rock Deformation Lab we were involved in a charity fundraising day for the Comic Relief Red Nose Day where all the guys in our lab dressed up as women (or more specifically horrendous transvestites) for the day and went round collecting cash for the charity. OK,.so we may have looked ridiculous - but it was all for a good cause and we raised a lot of money.

One of our ideas (after an evening in the pub) was to Duck tape ourselves to the wall in our department for 24 hours. Henkel, the makers of Duck® tape have kindly donated a small arsenal of Duck® tape for the event. All we need now is your help. Forward this link to as many people as you know. Come visit us. Come sponsor us.

"As a product, Duck Tape is extremely strong and versatile, which is why Henkel were more than happy to get involved and support this fun idea for Comic Relief.  We wish the boys the best of luck and hope they raise lots of money." (Mark Hampshire, product manager Duck Tape, March 2007)
