ERICA Modelling

ERICA Schematic

In order to analyse the performance, response and handling qualities of a future Civil Tilt-Rotor (CTR) such as the ERICA configuration, it is necessary to generate a high fidelity simulation model. This process involves refining flight mechanics models and simulation capabilities for tilt-rotor aircraft using existing codes from companies and research institutes across Europe .

Three simulation models codes have been used in this analysis to create ERICA simulation models which can be used both on and off-line, where the University of Liverpool have joined Agusta and NLR in creating an ERICA model using the Advanced Rotorcraft Technology (ART) package FLIGHTLAB.
