We thought it might be helpful to those of you who use iPhones or iPads if we listed the applications which we have believe might aid your studies. Many of these applications may also be available for for other types of tablets and smartphones if you are not an Apple user but we only have direct experience of using these applications on iPads and iPhones.
We have not been involved in the development of any of these applications and we have not been asked by the application developers to recommend them to you. Furthermore we do not receive any payments for making these recommendations to you.

Grays Anatomy Student Addition.
'Gray's Anatomy', the renowned classic anatomical book by Henry Gray was first published in 1858 and is considered by many to be one of the most iconic and significant medical books of all time. Gray's Anatomy is now available on the iPhone using the highest resolution images possible. (This version of Gray's Anatomy has been enhanced and specifically built for iOS). WholeSlide
The WholeSlide iPad app was developed to enable rapid access and rich interaction with large (1 gigapixel + ) wholeslide images hosted online. The app allows users to natively zoom into a wealth of image types: from neuroanatomy and developmental biology to pathology and histology resources. Click here for more information
Mobile MIM
The Mobile MIM software program is used for the viewing, registration, fusion, and/or display for diagnosis of medical images from the following modalities: SPECT, PET, CT, MRI, X-ray and Ultrasound. Click here for more information

Dropbox
Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. After you install Dropbox on your computer, any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, your iPhone and iPad and even the Dropbox website! Bamboo Paper - Notebook

Apps Developed by the University of Liverpool
HIV iChart
Use this application to search for potential drug-drug interactions between anti-HIV drugs and other medications an HIV+ patient may be taking. Results are presented as a “Traffic Light” system (red, amber, green) to indicate the recommendation. A brief summary of the interaction is given, along with a grading of the quality of evidence (very low, low, moderate, high). The application is available free of charge and has been developed by the HIV Pharmacology Group at the University of Liverpool through support from MSD, the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Janssen.
