Numerical Modelling

The philosophy of numerical modelling in the LEACOAST2 project is to use both process-based modelling and probabilistic modelling approaches to both extremes of the complexity to study the long-term larger-scale morphological impacts for the coasts with presence of shore-parallel breakwaters. UL will carry out the process-based modelling and UP will conduct probabilistic modelling with interaction between both teams to find out the optimal modelling approach with minimum processes included, but maximum accuracy for long-term predictions.
