Sea Palling

Sea Palling is located at north-east of Norwich, Norfolk, where a number of nearshore reefs have been built to defend the coast of this area, as shown in the figures. The breakwater scheme consists of 9 reefs, 4 of which are surface-piercing breakwaters and 5 of which are submerged breakwaters at high tides.

Reef System at Sea Palling

In 1953, this area suffered from severe storm flood, which caused huge damages to properties and loss of life. See the linked web for details.
