Background to the lecture
Pollution History of the Mersey Estuary - shows some results
from
our research on re-constructing the pollution history of the Mersey Estuary
from the 1800s to the present day from the metals deposited in sediment cores
from the salt marshes near to Widnes. Graphs are presented representing the
concentrations of various heavy metals resulting from industrial discharges

Background to the lecture
Endocrine Disruption is a significant environmental issue caused by various pollutants which can interfere with the endocrine systems of both vertebrates and invertebrates. A separate website giving more information on Endocrine Disruption this is now available
